- NY state requires you to start turn signal 100ft before turn
- If rear wheels start to skid, turn steerig wheel in direction of skid
- Downward Triangle road sign - slow down and yield
- Legally impaired in NY if your Bloog Alcohol is >0.05%
- When two come in opposite directions at in instersection, the vehicle turning left must yield to the other
- In rain fog or snow, use low beam
- On a narrow 2 way street, use a 3-point turn to turn around
- When tire blows out, hold steering wheel firmly
- 2 second rule - allow enough space such that 2 seconds should pass between your car and the one ahead of you passing the same object. This is a healthy distance
- No U-Turns if other drivers are unable to see you from >500ft either direction
- To pull out of parallel parking, ensure wheels are straight
- Must not park within 15ft of a fire hydrant
- At unclear intersections, each vehicle must yield to its right
- If you’re driving a vehicle with airbags, hands should be at 9 and 3o’clock positions

Traffic Police stuff
- If a police officer asks if you understand why you have been stopped, you don’t have to answer.
- Signing a ticket is not an admission of guilt – only an acknowledgment of receiving the ticket.
- If you are convicted of participating in a speed contest, it will result in the automatic revocation of your driving privilege for at least six months.
- Directions given by traffic officers take precedence over signs, signals or pavement markings.
- Never make U-turns in a school zone
- ABS is only activated under hard and firm braking
- Use turn signals at roundabout
- When parallel parking, no more than 12 inches from the curb
