I wonder if white-guilt ultimately becomes yet another expression of whiteness like everything else
Anyone anywhere in the world can fulfill their aspirations around “feeling white” by simply emulating white-guilt in the context of their local inequities
This way, the cultural vectors still point radially outward from American white culture, which assimilates narratives from all around the world and exports its protocols as some kind of a gold-standard
As a colored person/non-American, it’s easy to fall into the trap of taking this feigned attention seriously. But at the end it’s just a well disguised humble-brag.
